HOuRGLASS is a two-player time-sensitive abstract strategy game where all the pieces inhabit one of two GENDERS.  Players can flip their own pieces, which are attached to hourglasses that measure their masculinity and femininity, to make them into a different gender.

ORIGINAL

HOuRGLASS ORIGINAL is the most complex and retarded version (this is the version featured in the Itch player above).

The game ends when all the piece timers have stopped, or when one side has no starting pieces remaining.  To win, you must have more pieces on the dominant gender tiles when this happens.

On your turn, you have as much time as you want to analyze the state of the board, but once you click "EXECUTE", you've got  6 seconds of action time to move, flip, use piece abilities, and capture.

CONTROLS

LEFT CLICK to select a piece.  Click to move to green spaces, capture on red ones.

MIDDLE CLICK to flip a piece.

RIGHT CLICK to toggle out of a special pieces action.

The Host is the first person to type a room name in.  After the Host types a room name and starts the game, the other player can join from their computer by typing in that same name.  When both players are at the board screen, the Host can press the Start button to begin play.

HOST:  Press ~ (or `) key to restart the game for you and the other player.

SPACE BAR:  Pull up technical info (outgoing/incoming bandwidth).

HEARTS

HOuRGLASS HEARTS is a slightly less complex variant.

Starting piece positions are randomized, and there are more Space pieces.  Manipulation pieces don't exist in this mode.

The game ends when all of a sides starting pieces are dead.  To win, you must kill all of your opponent's starting (non-heart) pieces.

On your turn, you have as much time as you want to analyze the state of the board, but once you click "EXECUTE", you've got  6 seconds of action time to move, flip, use piece abilities, and capture.

NO EXECUTION

HOuRGLASS NO EXECUTION is the least complex, newest and most untested version.  It is real time and does not feature the Execution mechanic.

The game ends when one side's libido is dead.  To win, you must kill your opponent's libido.
